Let’s get this straight: A.I. doesn’t replace doctors. It empowers them. That’s why this study is crucial to mention. Normally, breast cancer detection by looking at mammograms is done by two doctors, one of which they switched to A.I. They worked side-by-side for 7 years, and the outcome? No significant change with the results, and that’s what we’re looking for here. Researchers concluded that using Mia together with one human reader could help to address the radiology workforce crisis in breast screening, and provide a solution for dealing with the backlog of cases due to COVID-19. #mia #breastcancerdetection #mammograms #themedicalfuturist #digitalhealth #future #healthcare #medicine #technology #AI #artificialintelligence #deeplearning #machinelearning …see more

Tough session today for US stocks with losses of 2.6%-3.2% for the major indices. Together with yesterday's market retreat, this erased the week's gains (please see below for the weekly Dow and NASDAQ charts). By contrast, yields on government bonds remained range bound. #markets #stocks #bonds #investing #investors …see more

I felt like a slave. I hated it. Maybe a lot of people like it. But I am just doing the math. The Above the Line salary is real and comes straight out of your pocket before you even knew that money was there.

I guess its really hard to figure out what people of the ages 18-23 should do during the most vibrant, healthy years of their lives when they grow from being a child to an adult. So I figure I will help people out by coming up with a list and try to handle the criticisms that will certainly arise even before they arise. I can do this because I have a college degree. So I’ve learned how to think and engage in repartee with other intelligent people. …see more

Self-publishing this book changed my life. I told my story of being dead broke, depressed, suicidal, and how I struggled to bounce back. I told my story of all the things I tried - what worked and what didn't. I told the story of how the only way to survive now is to not depend on others to validate you or "choose" you. That the only way is to choose yourself from the inside and then the outside. If you let others choose you, the results won't be as good, you'll be unhappy and resentful, and you spend your life at the whim of others. At least, this is how it seemed to me. So help me celebrate the 5th anniversary tomorrow: Live podcast at 6PM with  Ryan Holiday . Q&A cat 7PM Comedy show at 8PM. Plus, get a copy of "Choose Yourself" at the party if you don't already have a print version. Help me celebrate! …see more

There’s no way you can go from "Intense" hatred to compassionate unconditional love. Gratuitous positive thinking for the sake of being positive just doesn't work.  There are many deep, reasons, dating from childhood that you don't even understand you might cause you to have intense hatred or anger.  Trying to skip all of that so you can feel a fake love will only turn you into a fake and create even more of a monster. There’s simply no reason to feel compassion towards anyone other than the people who you are closest to. So here’s what you do. It’s a mental discipline:  http://ow.ly/yeAK30iqREh …see more

Realistically most companies in the broad consultancy/vendor space don't sell to Clients what they need. They sell what is easiest to sell. What is easiest to repeat. What is easiest to get reoccurring revenue from. We live in an age of Gym memberships, Physical trainers, Surgeons, Nutritionists......Not people who look after your wellness. We don't sell triage, we don't sell specialists and generalists, we don't sell solutions that fix the problems because the incentives make this unwise and it's hard to make money …see more

This is the most delightful website to buy a product I've ever seen. I want to lick the screen. Wish all commerce could be this seductive, this beautiful, this rich, this tactile. This is what happens when you reject the endless "best practise" of identikit Shopify sites and newsletter signups and promo codes and refine based on A/B tests and spreadsheets. If you apply utter brilliance, empathy, imagination and ambition, you get something wonderful like this. https://nolii.com …see more
