Spent the day at the accounting show. It was a regular show kind of day. Singaporeans are like most accountants here in the US. They are behind in cloud adoption but wanting to learn and are genuine professionals. They are warm and friendly people. The best part of my day was hanging out with my Australian social media friends some of whom I only just met in Real Life today. They laughed at how “American” I am in that I’ve opted for a PB&J sandwich for breakfast everyday. The hotel breakfast buffet has some strange things on it. So, i”m going with a known. We also had an in-depth conversation about Jello salads. And they have no idea that pretzel jello tastes delicious. Or how my Mom would spend hours making 7 layer jello. And that Finger Jello was a treat. Finally they took the most priceless picture of me laughing at the swag of a metal straw that’s comes with its own cleaner. I’m not seeing the connection between straws and software. We were all pretty sober. Social Media builds such strong relationships that going out with them was like going out with old friends. And Wayne Schmidt said it best when he said we had the most progressive accountants in world together for conversation and we were talking about Jello! #besties . #radicalcpa #cpa …see more
Some advice to product designers looking to implement the Hook Model 👇 Start early. Start when you’re still jotting your idea down on the back of a napkin and fleshing your idea out with friends and colleagues. Before you spend a bunch of time, money, and energy actually building your product, it’s a good practice to sit down the with Hook Model and ask yourself the five key questions: • What habits does your business model require? • What problem are users turning to your product to solve? • How do users currently solve that problem and why does it need a solution? • How frequently do you expect users to engage with your product once they are habituated? • What user behavior do you want to make into a habit? Answering these questions will tell you whether or not you have a habit-forming product. I recently appeared on The Handoff Podcast with Derek Mei where I talked about the Hook Model, how to build healthy habit-forming products, and Indistractable! I’ve included a link to the episode in the comments section! How do you think product design has changed in the past five years? #Hooked #ProductDesign #UX #Values …see more

It is said that what matters most is how you see yourself. Most #successfulpeople are self-confident, they believe in themselves to deliver phenomenal results despite #obstacles . Here’s an excerpt from a TEDx by a Soccer coach who speaks about the importance of self-confidence and how it is a skill that can be developed. a. Persistent practice - As Malcolm Gladwell in his book 'Outliers' prescribes, practice for 10,000 hours until the task you are doing is not novel for you anymore, automatically leading to more confidence in your own ability and competence to do the task. b. Positive self-talk - Thoughts influence action. If you don’t believe in yourself, no one else will. Reaffirm positive self-talk in quiet moments ‘I am the captain of my soul and I am the master of my fate.’ c. Catch them when they are good v/s when they make a mistake - As a coach, pat your team on the back and give detailed feedback on what they did right or well. d. Interpret feedback positively and see a silver lining, instead of beating yourself up. …see more

An extraordinary act of generosity. Leonardo Bellini reaches out to interview me for a book he's writing about LinkedIn in Italy. I was happy to give my time. He tells me that he'd like to send me a little something to say thanks. Then, a whole box of fresh jams and jellies arrives today from Sicily. I'm shocked! Every fruit imaginable is present, and they're DELICIOUS! Everyone should buy his book when it's published! Leonardo, thanks for going way above and beyond. :) …see more

Are newsletters DEAD?!☠ As a digital marketing pro on the innovative edge of tech and social media, I tend to think so, and here's why... Although newsletters are still a strong tool for internal communications, SPAM filters and new regulations are making newsletters more and more difficult to even enter the inbox of subscribers making the labor behind the strategy a painfully low ROI. Remember the last time you saw a sweet new pair of shoes or a jacket that you couldn't pass up? Was it in a newsletter, social media, or an ad? As social media and apps continue to improve while boosting accessibility and engagement, most organizations will transition to a community environment over a newsletter database - issuing newsletters on behalf of the platforms. Gated content continues to decline with a more open format for SEO, which is how most newsletters have been built in the past... So what's next? If you were my client, I would have you on a call to understand your target market, buyer personas, and where your audience "lives" so you can create the strongest campaign possible with the highest ROI. And who knows... it may just be a program on LinkedIn 😉 What do you think? Are newsletters just a haunt from the past?👻 If not, what's your favorite newsletter? #DigitalMarketing …see more
“My favorite part about this internship was working under you, Natalie.” Interns are sometimes the most underrated employees at the company. My Spring Intern, Adriana Bernal Martinez , had her last day on Wednesday. Mid-way through her semester, I told her that I as taking a staycation the following weekend. Her response? “How exciting! You so deserve it.” I was absolutely taken back by how well she understood how to support me. While she thanked me for mentoring her as my intern, I should really be the one thanking her for how she taught me even more about gratitude and communication. Shoutout to this old video I took to send to my family during my first week as an intern at Studio71 in January 2018. #interning #studentoflinkedin #interns …see more

At work this is important—setting goals and understanding your reasons for wanting that goal-will get you far in your career...and in life! Goals are always insecure, unless they are in service of a larger personal mission/purpose! …see more
Two thoughts on the COVID immunity passports: Israel is by far leading the vaccination race with more than 20% of their population already vaccinated. Issuing an immunity passport is a smart act, and let’s face it: a must have. Why not go digital though? The “green booklets” issued by the Ministry of Health are analog paper-based documents people have to carry around. A country with a booming startup ecosystem could surely do better (and more digital) than this. In an age where most of our identity cards are already with a digital chip, let’s not move backwards. So in short: Go immunity passports! But go digital. #immunitypassport #israel #themedicalfuturist #digitalhealth #future #healthcare #medicine #technology #COVID19 #COVID_19 #coronavirus …see more
