I live like someone will live 10 years from now. I got genome sequencing which I discuss regularly with my primary care physician. I improve my sleep quality, daily exercises, stress and many more lifestyle elements with digital health technologies. I monitor parts of my health and lifestyle with the hope to catch diseases early. Recently, I started finishing my keynotes with saying that I'm the patient of the future, ask me questions. I know it's a weird idea, but people love it and ask me about my relationship with technologies, when I need a break from them, how I deal with privacy issues and in general, how I try to improve my health with technologies. It's a refreshing experience to see how excited people become when they can ask about the future. If you could meet today a patient from the future, what questions would you ask? #themedicalfuturist #digitalhealth #future #healthcare #medicine #technology #fromchancetochoice #speaker #keynote #speakerlife #futurism #privacyissues …see more

Returning to this -- the pressure on the currency in Turkey -- as, per this weekend's weekly look ahead market post, it will put an even bigger spotlight on the central bank's meeting this week. Risking a disorderly process, the policy pressure is to transition from stealth tightening to rate hike. But then we have the politics... #economy #markets #currency #investing #centralbanks #em #emergingmarkets #turkey #fx …see more

The New York's Time Liz Alderman on Europe's "worst recession on record" in the second quarter. Among the hardest hit countries: Spain, France and Italy with GDP falls on 22%, 19% and 17% respectively. Expectations for a sharp Q-3 bounce are being tempered by pockets of virus outbreak and, as in the UK today, the slowing of re-openings. https://lnkd.in/gRbqeUp #Europe #Eurozone #economy #nytimes …see more

Re tomorrow's US Employment Report Unfortunately, it will likely be hard to conclude anything definitive from tomorrow's jobs report for at least two reasons: The many competing influences right now on the labor market will make it quite difficult to distill key insights on durable labor force trends; and The data could well already be out-dated given the ongoing reversal of economic re-openings and signs that layoff intentions are trending up to larger firms. #economy #jobs #employment #unemployment #wages …see more

7 Things I learned from playing chess. Ultimately, I learned how to succeed. But first I had to learn how to lose. I had to learn how to learn. I had to learn how to be paranoid. I had to learn how to "kill". I had to learn how to control my emotions. And put it all together in a messy soup. https://lnkd.in/eeeSgpD #entrepreneurship #stress #chess #investing #writing …see more

Ten years ago, when a McKinsey consultant left the firm, chances were they headed toward a bank, private equity group, or another professional service firm—in London, New York, Berlin, or another big city. But as our firm changed more in the past decade than at any other time in its entire 96-year history, so did our alumni network. We’ve integrated analytics, AI, digital, design, and other capabilities into the new ways we work with our clients. We’ve opened new offices in 41 cities, many of which lie in emerging markets across Africa, Eastern Europe, and Southeast Asia. And we’ve grown; McKinsey today is 30,000 colleagues strong. So today, that same consultant leaving our firm might launch a mobile healthcare service in India. Or develop self-driving cars in California. Or – heading even farther afield, to the stratosphere – lead a startup to clean up space debris. #mckinsey #careers #professionalservices …see more

Feel like we're too quick to make things and too reluctant to listen to customer needs. Too much engineering, not enough design and empathy. Need to make technology around use cases, not around what's possible. Take the whole Smart Home arena......A consumer nightmare.
