Have you ever been stuck in a rut? Have you felt like you can't get out of it, no matter how hard you try? When you are diagnosed with an incurable disease like cancer, it's easy to grieve and get stuck in a mental rut. Even as the "bubbly and blessed" I have felt my fair share of darkness fighting illness! We get out. We fight through the pain. We rise up and make the best of a very dark situation! Because the clouds WILL part 🌩 and the sun will come back out 🌞 Weathering the storm isn't about the cards you have in your hand... but about how you play the cards you've been dealt. That's why I stepped up to this challenge... Brain fog. Sound familiar? It's a tedious side effect of MS that can make me sound silly or stupid. You see, because of lesions coating my brain like chocolate chips in one of my grandma'scookies, My brain works 10x+ as hard to send signals which can cause me to slip up in verbal communications. I've never been taken seriously so I'm pretty used to the judgement, But that doesn't stop my desire to sharpen my thoughts and fight this neurological deterioration. I study quantum physics and neuroscience to understand all the details that my care team doesn't have time to teach. What if you applied the same consistency and discipline to carving out time just to “be” rather than to “do?” Research shows breaks are essential to improving our moods, overall well-being and performance capacity.
