My latest baby has completed the first trimester! Happy to announce my latest initiative - Money Management India - is coming along well thanks to a group of bright and hard-working research interns. I have never met these interns - I hired them remotely...they live in small towns. We just took advantage of the lockdown. We meet every morning for 1-2 hours. They have prepared 200 dossiers on private equity, venture capital, hedge funds...and are now on to listed equities. These interns are looking for career breaks in investments, investment banking, valuations - please consider in case you have any going. What is "great employee morale"? Is it free food and snacks, morale events, swag, and so on? A lot of companies and leaders believe this to be the case. The more I lead organizations and learn, the more I am convinced that those are employment "perks", not morale. Great employee morale is a culture of transparency, respect and accountability, work that is motivating and exciting, and most important, being able to take and maintain control of your personal time and have true work-life balance. While most companies have the "perks" I mentioned above - ours included - I've learned that it's much more valuable to be able to leave work at a reasonable hour and get your personal time back, however you choose to spend it, and not have to worry that you'll be castigated for "not working enough" or that your job is overloading you with work. The majority would easily choose that over most job perks. Let's do better and give our people their time back while thanking them for a job well done. #dobetter #culture #morale …see more

When I think of writing a strong title, I think of wedding dress shopping... You almost NEVER go with the first one you try on 👰 Even in thorough RFPs and Resumes, if your headline/subheader doesn't include keywords, your hard work could be for nothing. Does anyone really enjoy completing RFPs anyways? 🙄 Your title and subheaders are the doors to your content... And if it doesn't ATTRACT your reader to open that door, all of your hard work on the videos, articles, emails, and social posts get WASTED! (Not to mention hundreds of hours on RFPs each year... *sigh*) So if you're ready to amplify your Click-Through-Rates (CTRs) experiment with five to 10 tactful headlines and choose the one that stands out. Stop wasting time. Apply this tip, BOOST your results! Can't wait to see what you come up with! Make sure to tag me in your content on social when you've executed this strategy so I can support you! I'm quite dissappointed with the Omron Heartguide smartwatch, the first smartwatch to measure blood pressure continuously and the reason is not even related to not being able to use the app outside the US (!!). I also compared it to Omron's regular blood pressure cuff and they pretty much differ in measurements. It obviously doesn’t fit the definition of comfortable and for 24/7 use, and I cannot imagine someone wearing it all day long unless for self-defense or arm muscle-building purposes. This is a bulky watch for the male user. The special issue of The Journal of Clinical and Translational Research just came out. Do you know the difference between health IT and digital health? A lot of people and even large organizations don't. That's why I introduced the Gary-rule in it. Here it is. If a technological issue comes up in a healthcare setting such as the antivirus software becomes outdated or the electronic medical record system stopped working, and we have to call Gary, the IT guy, as he is alone capable of solving it whatever methods he uses, it’s an IT issue. If Gary is not enough to address the problem because more stakeholders of healthcare must get involved, (e.g., letting patients bring the data of their trackers into the medical practice and merge that with electronic medical records, or allowing physicians to do remote consultations on a regular basis), it’s digital health. The paper is in open access: https://lnkd.in/g2UvetW #healthcare #medicine #digitalhealth #healthIT #future …see more

A busy day in the US started with weekly jobless claims in-line to somewhat weaker than consensus expectations: Initial claims came at 1.006 million and continuing claims 14.535 mm (Bloomberg charts below). The bottom line: The labor market remains under pressure and faces mounting longer-term risks. The focus now shifts to other (lagging) economic data and, of course, Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell's remarks at the Jackson Hole Symposium. Economists will be looking for signs as to what's next for US monetary policy -- particularly with respect to inflation targeting where equity markets are looking for an even more stimulative stance while bond markets are likely to be more nuanced. #economy #markets #jobs #employment #unemployment #monetarypolicy #fed #federalreserve …see more
