I think by now, what I really want in Advertising is for them to ignore the current crisis, rather than pretending to care about it. Of course stop/change messaging that seems tonality wrong, but I don't need more sad music and "we're here for you" any more. This is a great time to spend to build brands, Why not just tell me about your great chocolate, show me a nice car, show me some good old fashioned product benefits, I don't need a disingenuous hug from an insurance company nor an empty gesture from a car maker. Just sell to me. Probably the best messaging right now is to tell me how great your customer service is because you're employing lots of people.
