#China has supported #infrastructure projects in 112 countries as part of its #beltandroadinitiative #BRI according to New York Times (including a few in #America )
In developed markets, the banking system typically meets the need of the retail borrowers while the corporate bond market takes care of the money that large industrial houses require, and the creation of infrastructure is the responsibility of the government. In India, the banks are expected to do all. To read more, visit http://amzn.to/2i7RKh0 …see more
The last 20 years in payments and financial services has felt like a nonstop roller coaster of change and big-idea explosions. And, PayPal CEO Dan Schulman tells me, things are about to really ramp up around ecosystem. The next five years, he says, could leave the advances of the last two decades in the dust. I have mixed feelings about #womensday On one hand, it highlights the biases, pay gap etc that we still have to work on. On the other hand, I feel it entrenches it even more. I see many organisations asking women to appear on panels/TV etc just for that one day. And then it's back to business as usual...you don't see those women again until the next year. It's same with corporate boards. They appoint one token woman when there is research that shows it takes more than that for women's voices to be heard. And then they consider preaching to others. So my stand has been to avoid participating in such 'show only' panels, appearances etc. I will not participate unless I see women all year round. I say no to being the token woman. #notokenwoman …see more

How do we raise indistractable kids? This is a question parents around the globe are thinking about as technology becomes more integrated in our daily lives. It feels like our kids spend all day on social media, switching between apps, and playing video games. The culprit seems obvious: tech is the problem. But is it? As tempting as it may be, removing all digital devices won’t solve the problem. What we’ve come to understand is that there are hidden root causes to kids’ distraction. In the clip below, I discuss self-determination theory, how it can help us get to the roots of distraction, and how we can use this information to raise indistractable kids. What are some other techniques you’ve implemented that allow your kids to have a healthy relationship with technology? #Indistractable #Behavior #Psychology #ProblemSolving #Productivity …see more
In order to avoid distraction, we must understand it’s roots. I initially didn’t want to believe the things that drive us to distraction, but after digesting the scientific literature, I had to face the fact that the motivation for diversion originates within us. As is the case with all human behavior, distraction is just another way our brains attempt to deal with pain. If we accept this fact, it makes sense that the only way to handle distraction is by learning to handle discomfort. #Indistractable #Distraction #Productivity #PainManagement #Discomfort …see more
I would make Tax Day a holiday, allow citizens to choose where 1% of their taxes go, and make it a celebration. Show a video of where your money goes and thank you. Citizens deserve to be more involved and appreciated.

In marketing, creativity isn't just a nice-to-have, it's the foundation to ALL of that marketing magic! Did you know that humor and sarcasm can boost creative thinking? In fact, I just got off one of the most enjoyable sales calls with a HubSpot representative because of the mountainous levels of sarcasm and hilarity. The borderline humor where you really aren't sure if it is sarcasm, or brutal honesty (or both?) -- which had me in tears of laughter. It made me think of this little study highlighted in Allen Gannett 's recent newsletter that covered the correlation between creativity and sarcastic behavior. Are you a fan of sarcasm? Laughter can do so many incredible things for the mind, so I hope you're surrounding yourself in good company and lots of laughter! PS - If you like this kind of content, make sure to follow and subscribe to Allen's newsletter. It's always a treat! Give me a little laughter in the comments! The best joke wins! #TrickOrTreat #Creativity #Marketing #DigitalMarketing #ChantelShares …see more
This is what corporate wellness programs needed for a long time: measurable impact and real health outcome. Glad to see Fitbit has a part in shaping the future of healthcare and corporate wellness.
I’ve recently tested two devices that integrate both a BP and ECG monitor: the Withings BPM Core and the Viatom Armfit+. Monitoring cardiovascular conditions used to rely on measurements taken from bulky devices available only in medical facilities. With the advent of digital health technologies, such medical-grade monitors became affordable, more portable and available outside of the confines of the hospital. Take a look at my findings! #viatom #withings #cardiovascularmonitoring #ecg #themedicalfuturist #digitalhealth #future #healthcare #medicine #technology #wearable #health #healthy …see more

For the past 15 years, I’ve been traveling and giving speeches about the digital health revolution. And wherever I go, I keep hearing the same fears and criticisms against it. A big part of the medical community simply doesn’t want to embrace something like A.I. as they feel that their job as physicians and their value as a diagnostician will be in danger. They tell me that technology takes away the art of medicine. But it’s a flawed mindset. And I’d like to use a documentary, AlphaGo, to prove to you that the art of medicine is not going to vanish, in fact, it’s only getting started. #themedicalfuturist #digitalhealth #future #healthcare #medicine #technology #health #healthy #video #youtube #studio …see more

As even organizations like the WHO have been mixing up health IT and digital health, I published an editorial in the Journal of Clinical and Translational Research and introduced the Gary rule to clear up this misconception. If a technological issue comes up in a healthcare setting such as the anti-virus software becomes outdated and we have to call Gary, the IT guy, as he is alone capable of solving it what-ever methods he uses, it’s an IT issue. If Gary is not enough to solve the issue because more stakeholders of healthcare must get involved, (e.g. letting patients bring the data of their trackers into the practice and merging that with electronic medical records), it’s digital health. http://bit.ly/2CEg4UN #ai #technology #health #healthIT #digitalhealth #research …see more
