Attention, leaders: Have you lost your voice? As a professional communicator, I rely on my voice as a tool. It helps me articulate my offering, communicate with and connect me to others, and supports my values and perspective. Of course, āvoiceā extends to all forms of communication, whether spoken or written and collectively makes up your personal brand. Ideally, you have a consistent voice, no matter the medium. This is especially true when youāre trying to build your brand and your reputation as a thought leader. Consider then, for a moment, if maybe youāve lost your voice⦠⺠Do you struggle with having and maintaining a clear point of view in your communications? āŗ Does the subject matter of your content vary dramatically, causing folks to scratch their heads? āŗ When someone meets you in person, are they surprised because you somehow seem different? These are all red flags that you may be losing your voiceāand your ability to communicate effectively. Regularly sharing your unique point of view in those few areas where you have expertise will position you as an expert, eliminate confusion, differentiate you from your competitors, and draw othersāemployees, clients, partners, and investorsāto you. #leadership #communication
