Daymond John helps me answer your questions in my next episode of #AskMrWonderful that will drop the morning of Wed April 8th on my YouTube channel. However, there is one question that I am #getting every day now. The #CoronaVirus pandemic has roiled the global stock markets and reduced the value of almost every asset class as everybody scrambles for liquidity. Why should the high end luxury watch market be immune? Or is it? The debate: #coronavirus #Fashion #WatchCollecting #investing …see more

Does #populism equal #pessimism? In this article, I outline three facts that point toward this trend, and offer insights into how we can transform our #political paradigm to meet our #economic challenges and ensure a better future for all.
This past week a childhood hero of most South Africans was awarded one of the highest honours that a citizen can be awarded. William Smith, our learning channel superhero that helped so many of us learn and excel at Maths and Science through the Learning Channel on public broadcaster TV, was awarded the National Order of the Baobab. An award so well deserved for his contribution to learning! His passion to make a difference, to communicate in a way that others could understand, and to make things fun are lessons we can take away from this national treasure. #WilliamSmith #NationalOrders #Baobab #Purpose #SolvingProblemsThatMatter …see more
Applauding Prime Minister Suga’s leadership for his commitment to make Japan carbon neutral by 2050. If one of the world’s most industrialised economies can do this, all of us should take note and redouble our efforts and seize the opportunity that lies in low-carbon transformation. …see more

Something to think about and cheer up. We might unleash the next Newton. We have to find a way to #smilemore in these grim times
I’m kind of slowly starting to think quite radically that we should stop having any press coverage or funding of any technology unless it’s designed in part, in some perhaps oblique way, to bring good to the world and society. I’m absolutely sick of being in ever more luxurious conference centers at SXSW where we talk about frivolous technology while more and more homeless people gather outside. In many counties we’re collectively destroying the planet, good jobs, income inquality suffers, healthcare is a mess, we’ve a demographic timebomb. In the USA we’ve got out if control guns, opioid addiction rampant, extremist views. Globally, women are still facing vast problems with any remote from of equality. We’ve a terrible media and news climate, lies are perpetrated , shitty governments form. Tech needs to start focusing on this or what’s the point. But instead we can order pizza from our shoes and order laundry detergent with our voices and that’s what we talk about ? It’s insane …see more

When a plane takes off, it takes off into the wind. For the first 5-15 mins it’s goal is only to gain altitude, to trim its wing to be more efficient and go further, to get to what it’s made to do, fly. The distance covered in that time is often in the wrong direction or not far. It doesn’t matter in the scheme of things . In a non patronizing way, this always seems like how people should think of the first jobs in their career. A lot of people think they have to pick very carefully to ensure it’s heading them in the right direction. In reality it’s more important to get airborne. …see more
