Words of comfort to those who apply for jobs on here. I'm lucky to know some of the most brilliant people you can imagine, world class people , award winning, celebrated, wonderful folk, and they are all feel down and rejected right now. They've applied & been rejected for several good roles on Linkedin, they've not made any first rounds, and they think they are not good enough. Not by a long shot. Applications on here (for many) are a total waste of time. When we made it free and easy to apply for thousands of jobs, we also ensured that HR would use AI and clumsy tech to filter out all but the most boring risk free candidates. Brilliant people will always fail these. I would suggest the following. 1) Make a simple website with the specific ways you are extraordinary, in simple words. Show proof. 2)Think about roles you are genuinely perfect for. There will not be many. Be honest. 3) Never write to HR, only to a senior executive. In 100 words get their attention , interest and send on a link to your site. 4) Try to find companies who want to work around your brilliance, not around their limited imagination. It may not work, but it's a lot better than feeling depressed because a HR manager doesn't know how to recruit and it's far more likely to bring about good things.
