My semi annual reminder that I believe "Disruption" has never been about technology, it's been about imagination. It has been about challenging assumed constraints and assumed wisdom. In the classic sensed and defined use of the world "Disruption" doesn't explain..... -Tesla - iPhone -Uber -Airbnb -Venmo -Tinder - DJI Drones - Sonos Amazon, Dyson, WeWork,Juul, Instacart, Magic Leap, RobinHood, Oyo, Roku, Klarna, Lemonade, IKEA, Monzo, Bird, Peloton, Oscar, SmileDirect, and basically every single interesting company that we consider disruptive. Neither does technology explain them. They are only and entirely around understanding that a changing world changes the physics of business and the patterns of consumer behavior and these are the companies with people either optimistic, audacious, imaginative or naive enough to do that.
