I've landed safely in the Democratic Republic of the #Congo at an incredibly pivotal moment. Just when it seemed that significant progress was being made in the identification of potential #Ebola cases, when treatment advances meant that more people were surviving and when a new experimental #vaccine was yielding some hopeful results, attacks on treatment centers in Butembo and Katwa have created major disruption and increased fear and mistrust. Nice neat job at first glance on a Brand New building but every door I went through had Fire door keep shut and the mag lock reduced the head height of the door breaking building regs, Approved document B states "Headroom in escape routes - 5.16 Escape routes should have a minimum clear headroom of 2m. The only projections allowed below this height are door frames" Mag locks reducing further is not allowed. every single one one was drilled through the door negating the fire door certificate and the solution overall isn’t compliant with escape door standards EN179/EN1125 nor are the mags likely to be certified to BSEN1634 for use on fire doors.
