Pretty sure the entire recruitment process should change for the knowledge economy and the best roles within it. 1) Resume's or CV's are about the worst way to judge people. Would be way better to have personal websites where people could articulate what actually matters. Their values, skills and personality. Their hopes and dreams, faults and eccentricities. What they believe and evidence of all this. I'd love to see personal websites used by everyone. 2) The process is appears broken, seems to be designed not to get the best people fastest but to prove that people have worked hard and followed the right proceedure. 3)For understandable reasons, recruitment still focussed entirely on the gaps remaining and the suitability of people to fit them best. Not finding the very best people and accepting this may alter some of the interfaces around it. …see more

I'd like to make one thing really clear. Our fears on the data collected by large companies, speakers listening to us, "surveillance capitalism" and a whole tranche of the paranoid, is largely based on a complex million billion dollar ecosystem that doesn't know or care to know who we are, but is trying to sell us a more expensive and relevant shampoo, a new perfume we may like, to get us to enroll in an MBA etc. What's far more damaging about modern media is that the only way to make money in modern ad/click funded media is to stoke OUTRAGE. It's to create ever more compelling and simplistic narratives that feed envy, rage, jealousy, resentment, fear, or shock. Our animal like instincts are being biohacked. Our attention is weaponized. Pieces that moderate, articles that pay attention to facts, words which form bonds and bridge divides are unprofitable. This should be the greatest concern of the modern media environment and yet nobody seems to care. To pay for news with our sanity was the most expensive mistake we've ever made and explains a great deal of the modern societies' entrenchment, dividedness and high tension. …see more

We have dealt with hundreds of instances of fake sites and fraudsters impersonating me or my team online. We are working in partnership with organisations such as the National Cyber Security Centre to report these sites and do all we can to get them taken down as quickly as possible. Sadly, the scams are not going to disappear overnight, and I would urge everyone to be vigilant and always check for official website addresses and verified social media accounts. …see more
My least likely to ever happen dream is to have a very powerful department called "common sense" in every business. Someone from this department sits in every meeting representing the voice of reason and the customer. "No John, that's bollocks", or "Are we really still talking about this" or to shout out, " Come on, that's clearly stupid" and best of all " Stop dicking around on this, these are details, go back to what matters". It would be the best job ever. …see more

Every time you say YES to something you DON'T want to do, this will happen: You will resent people, you will do a bad job, you will have less energy for the things you love, you will make less money, and yet another small percentage of your life will be used up, burned up, a smoke signal to the future saying... I did it again. #entrepreneurship #money #career #jobs #billionairemindset …see more
