When people receive an email from an Executive late at night, off hours, on the weekend, etc., they immediately feel compelled to jump into action. As I progressed into management, I would do my best to not send emails off hours unless it was a "house on fire" emergency. I would also advise my staff of same, but I never had a really good way to truly police for exceptions and would, sometimes, inevitably randomize people unintentionally. This, until yesterday. I received an email from a peer, and what you see below was in the footer. What an easy solution, and what an exemplary show of leadership!!
