There are only three ways to think about security and authentication: You can rely on something you something you "know" - eg A Password Something you "have" e.g A Photo ID Something you "are". e.g Biometrics. They get more secure as you move from Know to Are. I've no idea why the world is so slow to accept that in the age of fingerprint scans, FaceID, all systems, from boarding a plane, to voting, should focus on the latter. The very least secure way for me to get things is via mail, and yet thats the way the most vital documents I get are received. This is not a comment on the USPS scandal, but I'm also amazed in 2020 there are so few efforts to digitalize democracy …see more
Love this piece. Always been amazed how well many companies have come across in this time, and how it's showed how large resource rich tech companies lack empathy, imagination and ambition in helping at a time of need. Glad to see something on this. …see more
Every notice how customer service online is both fast & deeply unhelpful. It's hard to measure quality of help, it's easy to measure speed. Businesses today optimise around the wrong (but most easy to measure) KPI's.

Spent part of the past weekend near the Ethiopian border, in the town of Borama and in the Baki District, where 1 maternal and child health center serves a population of more than 14,000 people. To get there, I traveled some of the roughest, rockiest roads I’ve ever encountered, and tried to imagine being nine months pregnant, trying to get to the clinic in time to deliver my baby safely. #solemnselfie #globalhealth #maternalhealth #childhealth #midwivesmatter #HealthForAll …see more

Hospitalizations are probably a better indicator of the severity of #COVID19 than total cases (because of the big increases in testing) - hospitalizations in America are now higher than at any time during the #pandemic
Re #COVIDー19 #deaths , how is #USA doing? It depends … on whether you control for population. In total deaths, the US is now by far the most tragic. But once you control for pop, #France #Italy #Spain #UK are all in a much worse place
Global #PMI crashes by 20 points because of #COVID19 - we have never seen anything like this. #China q1 will be first indicator of massive impact on the real economy.

I’m not sure if CPA’s understand how much of a Really Big Deal this is! Eric is not a CPA. He was one of the first marketing/growth guys to be come a partner in a firm... and now I believe he is the first strategy/Revenue guys to become the ceo/mp of a firm. I couldn’t be more excited for my friend Eric Majchrzak to take on this role.. This is Radical! Firms need to follow this example, though there is only one Eric, and really think about who should be leading CPA firms in the future. Eric has done some amazingly progressive things in the past. I can’t wait to see his leadership moving forward! This is Awesome! #cpa #accountants #radicalcpa #cpafirm #accounting #cpalove #accountantlove …see more

I recently had the chance to sit down once again with Jordan Harbinger on his show! We spoke at length about a variety of topics, including: - How the issues caused by technology today aren’t dissimilar to the issues caused by technology that vexed Aristotle and Socrates thousands of years ago - The damage caused by accepting the media’s spin on technology as a pervasive addiction over which we have no control, and what we can do to get the best of these tools without letting them get the best of us - How to nurture your child’s healthy relationship with technology by empowering them with an understanding of its opportunity costs - And much more… Please be sure to give the episode a listen at the link in the comments!
