If the Agriculture Department finalizes the other two rules, nearly 4 million people would lose food assistance and nearly one million school children would lose access It also wants to prevent households with more than $2,250 in assets, or $3,500 for a household with a disabled adult, from receiving food stamps. That would strip nearly 3 million people of their benefits, and nearly 1 million children would lose automatic eligibility for free or reduced-price school meals. I was a co-author of this paper published in PLOS One. We aimed to explore the digitally engaged physician’s knowledge and attitudes towards digital health technologies and the transformation of the doctor-patient relationship. We did this by doing qualitative, semi-structured interviews with 11 digitally engaged physicians from 9 countries. We asked them about the role of digital health and technology in the medical practice and their everyday challenges, the ideal physician-patient relationship, and skills and competencies needed for working with e-patients and visions about the future of the medical practice. The interviewed physicians state that digital health solutions could create a deeper doctor-patient relationship: knowledgeable patients are a huge help in the joint work effort and technology is the main tool for creating a more involved and responsible patient. Medical professionals in the future might rather get a role as a translator between technical data and the patient; as a guide in the jungle of digital health. Deep thinking from Kasparov is a wonderful book and not only because I could listen to Kasparov for days but also because it presents a healthy image about the progress of A.I. The way he describes how A.I. has changed chess fundamentally and how chess players today can only work through algorithms to keep on becoming better is amazing.
