Throwing fried chicken bones - Creating trigger-like posts There are moments within me that I can act like a troll. I do it gleefully too. Still, it's my inner creativity that wants to experiment. Clickbait tile is what newspapers do to grab attention. An emotive headline is a great skill set that is required for ads, copywriting and even video (i.e. YouTube titles) I wrote about Trump yesterday as a way to grab attention. He is a polarising figure and everyone has an opinion about him. I leverage his name to start a conversation about social media and influence Did it have negative comments? somewhat Did it provoke conversations? it did. Let's use the wisdom of an Ancient Greek philosopher, Aristotle shares 3 effective persuasive techniques: 🍗 Ethos - 'character' - be an expert and give many reasons to care and trust what you say. 🍗 Pathos - 'emotions' - connect to their desires and curiousity, how can your content solve problems 🍗 Logos - 'argument' - uses logic and rationale A good headliner is just one aspect of content creation. A good content opens the KFC's doors (ie. headline) and encourages them to stay for fried chicken (that's the body) and CTA (they add reviews on Yelp). Thought on clickbait? #stringtheory on #contentcreation …see more

The most valuable companies of today employ many fewer workers than did companies in past periods. Corporate success today does not necessarily mean good jobs will follow. We must stop acting like it is still 1975 and adapt accordingly.

Telehealth Meets Medicare! Say Hello to Each Other. If you are a senior citizen most likely you will now be eligible to get your care remotely. Which is great news if you live some distance from your doctor or from a quality hospital—or even if you live ‘downtown Anywhere!’ Why drive or take the train when you can just dial-up your doctor or specialist? In a Friday afternoon announcement, CMS said new rules will eliminate geographical restrictions on telehealth access and telemedicine services in MA plans by 2020, enabling those in urban areas to use connected health technology. The changes will also give Medicare Advantage members more locations to access care, including their own home. Expect private insurance to follow (since they always do...) Selected Excerpt: “But with the final rule, it will be more likely that plans will offer the additional telehealth benefits in more parts of the country than before, whether they live in rural or urban areas.” …see more
This week I was asked to speak at my company’s retreat about how to develop an ‘authentic LinkedIn presence.’ Below are a few points I keep in mind: 1. Be authentic. Write about what you care about. Say it plainly; say it honestly. 2. Regarding your profile, keep it simple and use any 'unique differentiator' that you have in your header…(Mine is that I’ve been a Top Voice 3 years in a row!) 3. Do not use multiple titles, made-up words, do not inflate your actual job title and do use a photo! TIPS: #digitalhealth #remotemedicine Check out the video for additional tips on growing your brand and using LinkedIn to support your career! …see more
I started my ‘online career’ at Wikipedia, the Free Encyclopedia , which has just turned 20. I used to work on the English Wikipedia to develop articles and the medical portal that was the most visited medical page of Wikipedia back then. Over the years I was nominated to the admin position, which I thoroughly enjoyed despite all its nuisances. I still use Wikipedia each day ever since, and support it financially. I believe in its operation because it’s crowdsourced and WE make it work. If you use it as well, do send over a few bucks so that the world’s largest encyclopedia can be developed further and be of use to generations to come. #wikipedia #wikipediaturns20 #themedicalfuturist #digitalhealth #future #healthcare #medicine #technology …see more
I'm halfway through Health September, together with dozens of friends who joined me. The only criterion of this challenge was to give up an unhealthy habit that you enjoy for one month, and see how you can get on without it. I chose alcohol, but others said cheerio to energy drinks, tobacco, or engaged in more exercises, hoping that these will last a bit over the beginning of October. We are doing fine, and I'm sure we're yet to see the harder part - if you'd like to join, it's never too late! You can count on me for emotional support through this time. #HealthSeptember #HealthyChallenge #DigitalHealth …see more

One common fear in connection to artificial intelligence coming into the foreground is that we only realize too late that we are manipulated and losing control over our lives. But A.I. doesn't have to be an enemy or a threat if we learn to cooperate with it. Especially in healthcare. It's the help we desperately need. That's what I'm trying to explain in my new keynote narrative about artificial intelligence that comes out this October. Let’s embark on a journey of understanding, anticipating and controlling A.I. https://lnkd.in/g_F34DG #themedicalfuturist #TMFI #AI #artificialintelligence #healthcare #keynote #fromchancetochoice #futureofhealthcare #future #digitalhealth #technology …see more
