I don't want to poke you but as someone who has been tracking his sleep for years, I must ask: how can you go to bed every night not knowing how you will feel in the morning? The art of medicine is not going to vanish with the use of A.I., in fact, it’s only getting started. For the past 15 years, I’ve been traveling and giving speeches about the digital health revolution. And wherever I go, I keep hearing the same fears and criticisms against it. A big part of the medical community simply doesn’t want to embrace something like A.I. as they feel that their job as physicians and their value as a diagnostician will be in danger. They tell me that technology takes away the art of medicine. But it’s a flawed mindset. And I’d like to use a documentary, AlphaGo, to prove to you that digital technologies are going to be tools in the hands of physicians and they will help us find new and exciting ways to beat deadly diseases and make our lives better. As the entire healthcare system moves towards becoming invisible with the help of myriads of tiny diagnostic devices and gadgets, measuring vital signs, our cars will be an inevitable place for providing care.

A real cautionary tale! Delivering such messages requires the physician to be there in person. Simple rule in communication and providing empathy. You can't provide empathy through a machine, or at least, not when being present in person is an option. It's not just a wonderful documentary about a historic milestone in technology but also a perfect portrait about the technology vs humans competition because it describes why it's not a competition but an opportunity to work together.
