More and more brands are using #socialmedia to provide customer service - by the end of the year, up to 90% of brands will be doing it. Social media makes it easy to connect with your customers and give them the #customerservice they deserve. But doing customer service over social media is also very public, and the way you do it can have a huge impact on your brand. 72% of customers will tell 6 or more people about their #customerexperience , which means you can't afford to make these kinds of mistakes. …see more

The "membership economy" as Robbie Kellman Baxter puts it, marches forward. This is a brilliant move by Panera Bread . Customers who already buy their coffee suddenly get out-sized value. And those same folks leveraging that value are exposed on a regular basis to their other offerings. Honestly, given the nature of coffee, I'm a little surprised this hasn't been done before by a big chain (has it?) #coffee #subscription #membershipeconomy #panera #starbucks #peets #strategy …see more
Ladies!!! I finally found some time to do the fill a purse challenge! Find an old bag/purse that you no longer use (sadly, so many of us have one), fill it with useful personal items, and find a homeless or underprivileged woman to give it to! If your church hands out invitation cards, it may be a good idea to include one. If you take my challenge, let me know (message me or leave it in the comments) and I'll enter your name in a drawing to win a free Starbucks gift card. Happy Giving Tuesday!!! I love ya'll ❤️ #ministry #service #joinme …see more
I was SO happy to read on Twitter that the final #Ebola patient in the Democratic Republic of Congo was released from the ALIMA treatment center in Beni, after a year of valiant effort against that deadly virus. The good news brought back so many memories of my time in #DRC covering the Ebola response for National Geographic last year. I’ll never forget the people I met at the treatment center in Beni, including a woman named Mamisi who survived Ebola and devoted her time to caring for babies of other patients. I got chills interviewing a true #globalhealth miracle in person. Last month, I witnessed another #globalhealth inspiration after meeting Dr. Adaora Okoli, MD, MPH during the #AspenNewVoices training in Nairobi. She was the face of the 2014 West African Ebola epidemic when she was infected after treating one of the first patients in #Nigeria . @DrAdaora’s experience as one of a handful of people to survive Ebola helped to transform her into a passionate #globalhealth advocate, and she is now completing her internal medicine residency at Tulane University , and later plans to do a fellowship focused on infectious disease, particularly viral hemorrhagic fevers (VHFs). Started today watching the 2017 Hulu documentary, "Whose Streets?" about the 2014 uprising in Ferguson, Missouri, after the police shooting death of Michael Brown. Are you a #journalist in a country where neglected tropical diseases (#NTDs) pose a serious public health problem? Would you like to explore your nation’s NTD control efforts, and produce compelling stories that amplify the voices of the people most at risk? If so, I would like to work with you in the weeks before Uniting to Combat Neglected Tropical Diseases and the partners of the London Declaration on Neglected Tropical Diseases release their 5th Progress Report at the Universal Health Coverage Forum in Tokyo. There are many story angles to pursue, including: the role of community health workers, Water, Sanitation and Health (WASH) programs, Mass Drug Administration (MDA) events, and the role of technology in mapping NTD cases in endemic areas, just to name a few. And of course, you’ll want to get exclusive access to the 5th Progress Report when it is released next month, to communicate the findings to your readers, viewers and listeners. Let’s start a conversation now. Watch the video below about the London Declaration, and then tell me how I can help you produce a story. #UCNTD #beatNTDs #globalhealth #globaldevelopment #ReachingTheLastMile #LondonDeclaration …see more
I have really enjoyed attending the #discussCLT events organized by Charlotte Magazine and OrthoCarolina . The format has provided a great way for a relatively new Charlottean to learn about the key issues and concerns, and it's a great networking scene. Tonight's discussion is about "Navigating Non-Profits," a huge opportunity here in Charlotte. In the year since the protests around the police shooting of Keith Lamont Scott, so many of Charlotte's non-profits have been compelled to increase their outreach and efforts to address urgent problems. Speakers on tonight's panel were Mary Gallivan, MBA , VP and Director of the Centers for Giving at the Foundation For The Carolinas , Kelly Brooks of SHARE Charlotte , Josh Jacobson, CFRE , Managing Director of Next Stage Consulting, and Michael DeVaul, Chief Community Impact officer for the YMCA of Charlotte. Though this is the last event for 2017, you can hear more #discussCLT conversations through the podcast--> https://lnkd.in/esJjM8z #CharlotteMagazine #nonprofits #Charlotte …see more
