At the beginning of the year, I always test my eyesight with the EyeQue device. It's attached to my smartphone and can detect my visual acuity (aka 20/20 vision), contrast and color sensitivity. Super easy-to-use and provides a quick analysis. The art of medicine is not going to vanish with the use of A.I., in fact, it’s only getting started. For the past 15 years, I’ve been traveling and giving speeches about the digital health revolution. And wherever I go, I keep hearing the same fears and criticisms against it. A big part of the medical community simply doesn’t want to embrace something like A.I. as they feel that their job as physicians and their value as a diagnostician will be in danger. They tell me that technology takes away the art of medicine. But it’s a flawed mindset. And I’d like to use a documentary, AlphaGo, to prove to you that digital technologies are going to be tools in the hands of physicians and they will help us find new and exciting ways to beat deadly diseases and make our lives better.
