Whether you're getting clients or job, having a brand will help you stand out. Me...growing to 41k followers is by no accident. Nor it was an overnight success. Building your personal brand is power... Yes, power. It attracts: ๐Ÿ— customers and clients ๐Ÿ— community (who wants to work with you) ๐Ÿ— audience (who wants to consume your knowledge) And control. It allows you: ๐Ÿ— build your own business ๐Ÿ— Or a side hustle while working in a 9-5 job ๐Ÿ— Or land you that job you want Building a brand allows you to stand out. An important part of branding is understanding your niche market. For example, anyone can be a coach. But what's your speciality? What results would you bring? Why should they come to you? What industry do you want to position yourself? For example, Sales is a super broad horizontal. What's your special thing, your niche, your vertical? B2B Saas? Mega Enterprise Deals? Be specific. Being too broad also dilutes your brand. So how does fried chicken relate to all this? Well, when you eat a piece of ๐Ÿ—, you think of me. Then you think, "OMG, String is so good at marketing". #stringtheory on #personalbranding #b2b #motivation #digitalmarketing โ€ฆsee more

Most politicians have an outdated view of the economy. They think that corporations can be induced to treat people better. The truth is that most corporations no longer rely upon labor to grow and succeed. We need to evolve and accept that new solutions are needed. โ€ฆsee more

Ugh, service jobs? Donโ€™t most service jobs offer low pay, casual shifts and next-to-no opportunity? No, actually. The fact is, many service sector jobs pay well and are practically immune to automation or offshoring.

How many young people need to be killed or injured in America's schools before we address this situation, including the access to weapons by those who seem to misuse them? ย I get the 2nd Amendment. ย Can't we restrict ammunition amounts sold? ย Can't we look at other nations? And the aftermath for students, teachers and families is hard -- filled with memories that are etched. If schools and churches (and other religious venues) aren't safe, where is it safe? And, for the record, making schools armed camps is not good for anyone -- who can learn in an environment that looks and feels like a prison. ย And, without security, there is fear too. ย  Were I guessing, we need many more counselors -- mental health counselors for troubled students and surviving students, teachers, parents and administrators. We must do better. ย We have to do better. ย As educators, we must take a collective stand. How sad, too, that it is Valentine's Day -- ruined for those there forever. โ€ฆsee more

It is abundant and it is affecting our students in and out of class across the pre-K --20 pipeline. Tonight I'll be covering the recent shooting in Los Angeles of organizer and activist Nipsey Hussle. This is a particularly close story because I was considering setting up a satellite office at Hussle's cowork space Vector90 . There has been a lot of discussion with people who come from the area in which Hussle grew up. People like me. So, to bring this to a large audience, Arkrepublic will go live on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook at 9PM EST. Join us. โ€ฆsee more

Virtual Visits: Friend or Foe? Technology-enabled healthcare is here to stay, and growing. No question that telehealth visits, remote patient monitoring, point-of-care testing is the start of a much largerโ€”and rapidly growingโ€”area of development. And while many are bullish on the vast benefits of digital care including reaching people who canโ€™t access healthcare or where healthcare is scarce, or in conflict zones, it turns out to have very real limitations. Not surprisingly gaps in equity and access show-up even in this โ€˜virtualโ€™ healthcare model too. (Gaps access and equity are well documented in โ€˜the real-worldโ€™ of health care.) According to researchers at UCSF, virtual visits require patients to have the knowledge and capacity to get online, operate and troubleshoot audiovisual equipment and it requires internet service and cell phones or other devices. But more than a third of adults over age 65 face potential difficulties seeing their doctor via telemedicine, with the greatest challenges experienced by older, low-income men in remote or rural areas, especially those with disabilities or poor health. Buyer beware... Selected Excerpt: โ€œTelemedicine is not inherently accessible, and mandating its use leaves many older adults without access to their medical care.โ€ โ€ฆsee more

Culture Eats Consumerism for Lunch While โ€˜Consumerismโ€™ is all the range in healthcare, moving beyond the slogans to the real-world of strategy development and implementationโ€”and measurementโ€”is still in its infancy. Why? Even though many technologies are mature enough to demonstrate real value, getting people within organizations to change from their old ways is hard. The biggest challenges to innovation is not the technical aspect of intraoperability or, realizing a return on investment, but rather on the necessary adoption, implementation and change management that goes hand-in-glove with innovation. I do a lot of change management so I consider myself to be an โ€œOrganizational Culturalist.โ€ As an Organizational Culturalist, I function like a medical anthropologist helping organizations develop and implement technology adoption roadmaps. If โ€˜cultureโ€™ is the biggest barrier, then itโ€™s time to think of culture like anthropologists rather than technologists. Selected Excerpt: "Everybody thinks the only way you can innovate is to have some technological advance," he said. "We're finding a lot of innovations can occur without the use of technology but with changing the team and changing the thinking." โ€ฆsee more

Attention. Time. Empathy: 3 essential things e-patients expect from healthcare and medical professionals. These are also the fundamental values of healthcare, which seem to stay with us infinitely. Our interviews have shown that cooperation between technology and healthcare is not enough on its own: the most decisive factor is the return of the human touch and reciprocal communication. All of these suggest that technology is an important ally in the โ€˜renaissance of medicineโ€™ that starts to treat patients as it should have always had. Our vision is to be able to provide this for patients in the future, while being surrounded with cutting edge, invisible technology. This publication backs up our vision, feel free to read our research and findings! #themedicalfuturist #digitalhealth #future #healthcare #medicine #technology โ€ฆsee more
