Are you ready? Social media is now where most US adults get their news. Is your brand part of the narratives being shared? Are your employees/advocates helping to share your news? Important questions for 2019. https://lnkd.in/guiBrgR …see more
Join me Thursday, November 8th at 11am ET for a free virtual event, "Using Original Research to Fuel B2B Growth" Studies show that only 14% of business buyers think the thought leadership they read is "very good" or "excellent." But, it's never been more important to lead with thought. How do we get it right? In this session, I team up with Building Engines, Inc. 's Head of Research, Phil Mobley to share how we used original research to create content to fuel #B2B lead generation, #ABM , sales enablement, #PR , and more. You'll get a behind-the-scenes look at this effective campaign. Learn how to create content that not only resonates with business buyers, but compels them to trust your brand as a leader. Relevant for both humans and brands: "It is tempting to regard artificial intelligence as a threat to human leadership... #AI will lead to a greater emphasis on the 'soft' elements of leadership — the personality traits, attitudes, and behaviors that allow individuals to help others achieve a common goal or shared purpose." …see more

What Marc Benioff does to ensure he doesn't sit in a "CEO bubble" or "cocoon of good news" at SFDC: "He and his senior leaders now regularly go on global “listening tours,” looking for weak strategic signals. Inside Salesforce, the senior team also participates in Airing of Grievances, a companywide chat group. This group... delivers raw, unadulterated early-warning information 24/7 to the C-suite about what’s not working and why." …see more
"This shift reflects not only a change in the American business culture, but a change in what consumers want - and that's where marketers come in."
#Retail isn’t dying. It’s actually on the cusp of a historic revolution, and smart retailers will be gobbling up sales and market share 📈
You've probably heard it before, but it truly isn't all about likes when it comes to winning with social media. Timing and your actual content are far more important to your brand. #socialmedia #branding
I'm still seeing direct mail from DTC companies with messaging that leads with either who they are (e.g. The toothbrush re-imagined) or a discount (e.g. Save $100 off your first order), not the benefit they provide. Just a reminder, leading with the former doesn't give the customer a reason to buy and leading with the latter trains them to expect discounts. Again, I am talking about the main messaging. If a company is pursuing a discounting strategy, it can still have it as, say, a violator on the main image. Lead with benefit. #copywriting #messaging #marketing #marketingcopy #DTC #directmailmarketing #directmail …see more
In case you’re missing it due to everything going on, a lot of things are going DTC now in the United States. From lobster tails to wasabi to Coors Light. And I cannot imagine that changing back in the after times. #retailstrategy #dtc #delivery #consumer #consumerbehavior #directtoconsumer …see more

There are many ways to get a response and share your opinion online. Trolling should not be your preferred method of communication. #communication #reputationmanagement #socialmedia #KellyeMedia #blogging #writing
When I read this piece I shook my head two different times. One, that people could be so careless, callous and just plain ridiculous. And two, when Madhumita schooled us in a very classy way on how to do right by her — and why it's critical to do right by others in a similar position. Well done! #gender #work #culturalcompetence #bias #KellyeMedia …see more
Interesting story detailing a common narrative black female leaders - and likely female leaders period - experience. Though when you're black the whammy is often double. It shows that you have to push and in some cases fight for what's right, for what you deserve. And when that doesn't bear fruit, sometimes you've got to take the fight external. Faulty, subjective pay leveling and other bum tactics to avoid paying women fairly for their work, these are serious but solvable problems — if companies want to figure out the solutions. #equalpay #paygap #gender #KellyeMedia #compensation https://lnkd.in/eXa6cr8 …see more
Hmmm. I hadn't considered this angle: "in times of a global public health emergency where working when being sick means you can spread a potentially fatal illness to your work colleagues, a lack of a comprehensive federal paid sick leave law is an outright danger to public health." #KellyeMedia #coronavirus #health #policy …see more
