Message to the "Old Guard": the times when you could get away with anything in the workplace and silence, bully, torment and retaliate against your critics are GONE. The digital age changed all of that. Change your ways or face the consequences - your employees deserve what your published company values promise, and absolutely nothing less. Kudos to Meredith for doing what she did. A very courageous and selfless act. I hope Google uses this learning opportunity and returns to a "Don't Be Evil" set of values and corporate culture. It was a much loved company when those things were true. #culture #dobetter …see more

Even as early as 10 years ago this would not have happened. Shame on the companies that support a culture of retaliation - and you know who you are, despite innocent sounding statements to the contrary!! Today, the real-time availability of information in an always available and anonymous digital age has evened the playing field between top management the mass workforce. Employers should embrace this instead of fighting it tooth and nail. The "us vs. them" culture helps no one. Democratizing the employment culture is in everyone's best interest. And this is now a tidal wave that cannot be stopped. Ride it to success or be buried by it in failure. #culturematters #dobetter …see more

The president would like you to think banning TikTok and WeChat is a proactive measure to protect you. Instead, it's just pissing off a bunch of teenagers who like to make lip-sync videos and destroying the economics of the US-based Chinese diaspora. …see more
When does the transition from “wonderful opportunity to acquire customers” to “100% monopoly” occur?
Do you find it oddly coincidental that the TikTok ban almost immediately followed the launch of Reels?
Professional negotiators often wax poetic about win-win outcomes: where both sides cooperate and compromise. In practice, win-win is never a dominant strategy. Lose-lose almost always beats it. Here’s why.
Slack has filed an antitrust complaint in the EU against Microsoft for bundling Microsoft Teams with its Office suite of products. It’s deja vu all over again — remember the browser insanity of decades past? — and it raises the same questions. http://ow.ly/KLKT50AGdBx
If you are wondering about Twitter security, you're not alone. The "what if" speculators are running rampant. What if the hackers tweeted something about (fill in the blank) and it… tanked the stock market? Started a war? Caused Kim and Kanye to break up? Here's the thing: you don't need Twitter to do any of that. Any well-coordinated socially-engineered cyber attack could cause those same kinds of outcomes. What is remarkable is that it hasn't happened at scale yet. In practice, there would be very little tech involved. All the bad guys need to do is use LinkedIn to find out who has recently been fired from various tech jobs, then bribe the disgruntled employee(s) to gain access. Corporate espionage (or worse) accomplished. It's hard to hack tech; it's much easier to hack people. …see more
On the surface, this sounds like a great idea. In practice, advertisers will develop proxy strategies that they won’t disclose. Think about this...
