How is it vaguely possible that @Amazon is out of stock for 1 --2 months for Lady Lucy's Laugh Giraffe Journey. I want kids to have the book for the summer --- Laugh2Learn and stop summer slide and help kids who are recalcitrant readers. Barnes and Noble has the book. So does Northshire Bookstore in VT and Saratoga. Both have websites. Both ship for free I believe. Worth trying there. Book's website has special set of guidelines for how to help kids appreciate jokes -- reading them, writing them, understanding them. We need to help kids and the book also helps giraffe who are becoming extinct. If you have an Amazon solution, I am open to all thoughts. Reading has real power; it allows for the development of thinking and coping skills -- much needed in view of the disasters in our world -- both person made and nature made. In short reading matters and Lady Lucy's message of strength, endurance and courage is most fitting -- sad but true. Doing a presentation on Oct. 17th at Columbia Teacher College on strategies teachers, parents and administrators can use to help kids deal with trauma and toxic stress.
