If you’re subscribed to this newsletter you probably already know where I come from and what I’ve been up to over the past few years. Long story short: we grew quickly, failed a lot, learned a lot, and our team was crushing it pre-Covid. So coming to terms with the fact that it’s all coming to an end has been difficult for me to deal with because a lot of energy, sweat, tears, and hair loss (lol) went into that business. I’m not the type of person that dwells on things. I never really have been. But this has been hard for me to shake (hence my three month absence from writing these). I guess the beautiful thing is that I haven’t been sitting idle. I’ve just been quiet on social media. I’ve been thinking a lot about brand, what I want to do next, and who I want to be next. It's good to be back. I missed y'all. #justQ 🖖🏾🖤 …see more
Let's talk DATA! I have exciting data about the industry, 3-months post corona. I will give my insights. The basis for the information is from AdviceMe.Il so of course, you can not generalize it to all populations. Nevertheless it's interesting. First - the average age of people who asked for our advice: 26-33. I can explain it mostly by experience, 26-33 usually are employees at the beginning of their careers, and companies prefer to keep the seniors because they're more expensive to hire and of course, more valuable. Second, 1 out of 5 people is a software developer! Well, I was amazed by this one. I would think that SW people who are in high demand would be the last to get fired. I can explain it with 2 ideas - first, most of them are juniors /from small startups that had to close, second, AdviceMe's branding was especially oriented for tech people. Another interesting piece of data- 80% of the people who asked for our advice had at least an undergrad degree. The higher education was the fewer people there were. I guess companies won't let go so fast of people with high education. Also, 90% of people with 3rd degree had a managerial experience which is not a surprise. I want to thank Or Hazbani for all his help and great insights. And, 3 months later, I'm back in the office! …see more
There are increasing suggestions that the recent rally in gold reflects more than the usual drivers. This includes a gradual structural shift in how some long-term investors -- especially those revisiting their asset allocation models -- see the role of the precious metal in the context of the very low government bond yields associated with central banks' market interventions. #markets #gold #investing #investors …see more
Since the lockdown, I have been on habit #transformation mode of binge reading and experimenting. I wanted to test #IntermittentFasting since so much has been said about it these days. All I can say is it works! It worked far better than I expected. Like any #habit , when we make a positive difference in one aspect of our life, it has cascading benefits in several aspects of our lives. …see more

Life is to be lived from our heads and our hearts. There is an interdependence between them that must be honored.
My six year old daughter asked me, “What’s so great about the United States anyway?” And I didn’t know what to say to her. I’m from the US. But there’s many problems in how the US plays out its role both at home and in the world. How to answer about a country that engages in horrific wars, had slaves, has a 15% poverty rate, and yet has always called itself “the land of opportunity” and with reason. There are really two question: how do you define “world power” and is this a good thing or a bad thing. Maybe it’s better to be a small power and still have lots of wealth and conveniences (think: Luxembourg). First: are we a world power? Yes, the United States is by far the biggest world power and nobody is close... http://bit.ly/2vkUoca …see more
So I've now got a book deal and I'm in the early stages of writing a business book. Every time I go to Netflix, or the Atlantic, or the New Yorker or see Podcast lists or go to a Bookshop, I'm just totally overwhelmed by how much great stuff there is in the world that I don't have time to enjoy. People are mean about gut feelings. When gut feelings are billions of data points we've processed without realizing. But sure. Let's overwrite that with some a few bits of data collected with poor methodology, filtered by people with an agenda and presented by those trying to sell you something. Because if you fail with data you were being logical, but if you succeed without you are lucky. …see more
