I’ve received hundreds of emails asking, “How do you choose what to do next?” So here, for better or worse, are my suggestions on how to figure things out.
Giving users control over their feeds sounds great, but I will be very surprised if the data doesn’t show that the people most likely to be affected by political advertising are also the least likely to configure their feeds. Think about this...
Reddit banned "The_Donald" subreddit because of hate speech, and Twitch suspended Donald Trump's account for "breaking its hateful conduct policies." (Don't shoot the messenger.) Is this a welcome trend or reason for concern?

Per the WSJ, Amazon is limiting the ability of some competitors to promote their products. (i.e. Roku can't purchase ads on Amazon.) Amazon has its own standalone, world-class brands, which is cause for pause. Roku directly competes with Fire TV -- just not on Amazon.

We probably will not know the results of the election today. Google, Facebook, and Twitter will do their best to rein in misinformation about the election results, but no matter how well they do, some of the crazy will still get through.

Fantastic appointment with Aaron Ballard Ridley last week after a hospital trial using Abloy Cliq system. The positive feedback we had on the day from the Staff. “Saves time”. “Not chasing staff for keys”. “Safer medication storage” “Audit trails” “Why haven’t we had this system before”? During the trial two keys could not be accounted for. Usually this would involve estimating at what point the key went missing, who was on duty, then the time consuming task of contacting all staff, including locum staff which can be a challenge. On this occasion, the Cliq system an it`s auditable trail, allowed us to identify when the key was logged out and those keys that were not logged back in, allowing us to directly contact the RN and returning the keys in a timely manner. All RN staff were positive about this new system and find it addresses a long standing problem in relation to timely access to keys, safe custody of medications, lost and/or missing keys, timely replacement broken locks. To quote the feedback of most of the team “you’re not taking this system away”, rarely is such a system met with such positivity and have a noticeable positive impact on releasing time for patient care. …see more

16 year old getting taxed. 🤬🤬 So my son who is 16 before all the Coronavirus kicked off got a job with a restaurant chain opening in our town. Until it was open was paid £5-6 per hour for training then do the odd shift in a town nearby. All Good. Then Coronavirus kicks in,schools closed but officially still in full time education and the restaurant understandably halted all progress.my son told its all postponed but importantly still on their books. So in light of this my son gets a job stacking shelves to earn a few pound and help in the crisis. Here’s the kicker. It’s treated as a second job so he’s getting taxed on pittance anyway. The BR code really means that you aren't getting your tax-free personal allowance on that income. If you've got more than one job, you only get the allowance on one of them. Keep in mind that, if your personal allowance is being applied to a low-paid job, you might not get the full benefit of it. …see more
