The best thing about these four tips, they're common sense. You simply act and make the best of what you've got while you build what you don't. #career #work #interviewtips #gender #KellyeMedia
The consumer’s shift to digital and touchless shopping started long before the pandemic, but shifted into high gear once the physical economy shut down in March. New PYMNTS data from a study fielded in mid-September suggests that those digital shifts have forced big merchants to meet them on their digital and touchless turf. Consumers report having digital-first shopping and dining experiences that are as much as two and a half times better than they were in May – further assuring that digital-first will soon become the way consumers and merchants do business. …see more

I have been a fan of the band Rush since way back in 1978. My first gig was at London Wembley Arena on the Moving Pictures tour in 1980. Rush's drummer Neil Peart was and is my idol. As a teenager, I spent countless hours learning to play the drum parts of "Free Will," "YYZ," and "La Villa Strangiato," on a shitty glittery jazz kit in my bedroom (my parents had complaints from over half a mile away). Even after all that effort, I still never came close to getting it right. Peart was a master who was almost impossible to emulate but an inspiration to try anyway. Today we learned that Neil tragically passed away earlier this week. It may sound trite but I feel like I have lost a childhood friend. I can only imagine what Geddy, Alex and Neil's family are going through and they have my deepest condolences. This photo is of one of a pair of limited edition sets of Neil Peart ProMark drum sticks that I bought on the R30 tour in 2004, and the photo from the album "Permanent Waves" that I had pinned to my bedroom wall all those years ago. RIP Neil, you will be missed. …see more

Let the sunshine in! Step outside today and let the sunlight shine on your face and fill your spirit. Good morning. More of the same in the US bond market this early morning -- that is, continued bear steepner. The continued edging up in the 10-year yield to 87 bps is accompanied by 3 bps and 4 bps steepening in the 2s-10s and 2s-30s yield curves. With a concurrent rise in stocks, many see these moves as driven by higher growth expectations. Debt concerns and less portfolio hedging potency could also be at play, as well as some tapering in Fed purchases. #stocks #markets #economy #bonds #equities #stockmarket #bonds #investing #fed #assetallocation #investmentmanagement #centralbanks #yields …see more
China has emerged as the largest market for luxury goods in the world. My colleague Daniel Zipser and his team recently conducted an exhaustive study of this large and dynamic market, "China Luxury Report 2019: How young Chinese consumers are reshaping global luxury." Here's a short video with some highlights from their research, and a few nuggets from the report: **China delivered more than half the global growth in luxury spending between 2012–18, and is expected to deliver 65 percent of the world’s additional spending heading into 2025. **In 2018, Chinese consumers at home and abroad spent 770 billion RMB ($115 billion) on luxury items—equivalent to a third of the global spend—with each luxury-consuming household spending an average of 80,000 RMB per year. **Their outlay is set to almost double to 1.2 trillion RMB by 2025, when 40 percent of the world’s spending on luxury goods will be conducted by Chinese consumers.
