This is an insightful article on how people promotions impact company culture and performance. The onus is on a company to make its promotions’ process well-defined and transparent. When employees are clear about how decisions are made on promotions, they know what is expected of them, and where their company is headed. For Gravity chief executive Dan Price, that challenge was crushing: The company's revenue had essentially been cut in half. Price was faced with a grave decision: Lay off 20% of his employees or go bankrupt. Price refused to accept either option. The fact that she emphasized our work systems are archaically designed for men who have supporting wives at home it’s a super important point to understand. In this day and age, with so many families having a woman/wife/Mom who’s working and more men (whether they have stay-home-wife or not) interested in participating in parenting and childcare, the mindsets and the work environments need to adjust. There’s a lot of sub-skills to writing. Telling a good story that people can relate to is one of them.  You don’t read a book about “How to meet women” by Brad Pitt. Brad Pitt can’t tell me stories of the lifelong struggle to meet someone to date. I can’t relate to him. The best books are people who have been through the struggle. The only way to really learn is to have hardship, overcome it in various ways as you encounter more and more difficulties, and the come back a changed person to tell the tale.  http://ow.ly/3A9s30iuK0O …see more

Subbarao, responded to the global crisis follow collapse of Lehman Brothers in September 2008 by flooding the financial system with money and bringing down the policy rate to its historic low. Indian banks were also allowed to restructure those loans that had gone bad.
