Kodak did a double pivot, from Photography to a failed CryptoCoin to failed Vaccine maker and benefits all the way. C3 Energy changes name to C3 IOT to C3. AI to benefit from buzz around each new wave of hype cycle, and a company with slowing growth,$160m in revenue suddenly becomes ”worth” $16bn Cryptocurrencies spike on buzz & nothing else. Fundamentals or projected future cashflows replaced by believable narratives that will attract enough suckers Nikola “more of a business plan than business” becomes worth more than Ford riding the EV wave So you start to think, how real is all this? When Blackstone champions diversity When Oil companies talk about Green energy. What is real and what’s a play for headlines, fame & a stock bounce? It matters.
