After 10-20 years and countless billions spent, can we now reasonably conclude that every process for innovation has failed? Hackathons, Labs, Idea management software, Sprints, Silicon Valley Safaris, "working with startups", ideation workshops, MVP teams etc. Centers of excellence, countless pitches, competitions, bursaries, internships, initiatives have all accomplished remarkably little. Like pretty much nothing of meaning or real value. Be honest. You don't need a process for innovation. You need a thrusting spirit of unreasonableness, a drive to celebrate impatience, an obsession with feeling proud of what you made happen, a love of the newly possible, an addiction to risk taking, and rejection of ANY form of busy work or bureaucracy. Any form of process is really about merchandizing your role or career or department to others. It's defensive, sanitized time wasting.
