It’s quite easy to decide to leave NYC or San Fran, it’s a lot harder to then know where to go. Unlike the Olympics or Amazon HQ2, cities have made remarkably little effort to attract interest. Lots of talk about Austin being the city that tech people are flocking to, and Miami being where Finance people head to, but what about those in culture or liberal arts ? Where should Architects, advertising folk, journalists, TV people, musicians, film makers, designers , writers go ? Personally, I’d head to Miami: warm weather works wonders for creativity, it’s a place with the palpable energy release from many cultures. It’s got the calmness from the ocean and pervasive friendliness. A wide array of direct flights to amazing tropical places. It’s a place with optimism for the future and an audacious confidence in what can be built here. Or choose Austin because of barbecue food..... …see more
