There is an expression “a computer should never ask a question that it should reasonably be able to answer itself” and I think of it often. We are supposed to live in the age of big data, and personalization , yet every address form still demands I enter the Zipcode then State, then country. Airlines now email you before flying, telling you to simply “ check your travel requirements before flying”. You know where I’m from, and where I’m flying to, why don’t you tell me ? We should live in an age with frictionlessness everywhere, with delightful experiences that envelope you with moments on wonder. Yet we’ve made little progress.
