It's easier as you get more senior, but the more you can spend your time proactively, directly making things happen, the more you're able to not feel vulnerable in the cult of email. A lot of 2020 feels like gamification of work, meetings, email and other discrete numbers we obsess over. It's often progress that doesn't matter, but that has a hardness, specificity, and objectivity to it. Get comfortable with vague feelings of progress towards something meaningful.
