So much of the potential of the modern world is limited and slowed because deep down almost all of the modern world is constructed on digital foundations built in the 1970s when the cost of storing data was high. Much of the modern world is limited because we assume calculations are expensive* The other lost potential is because our culture, working processes and approach to work is constructed on the notion that workplaces are factories, where we need human cogs in machines, where output correlates with time, where conformity is vital, where we efficiency beats imagination, and where value is created in the same place and time as each other.
