It’s sad how often recruitment is about reducing the risk of finding someone unsuitable, not simply trying to find the most remarkable people to work around Qualifications, identical experience, boring career history’s, compliance, infrequent moves , etc. All used as deeply unimaginative ways to ensure nobody looks stupid for hiring someone. Heaven forbid you’re remarkable and changed career, or took a year out, or tried something and failed, etc.
