I spent some time in Sweden recently. ALL the people I met all were very happy with their approach. There was more altered behavior in Sweden than the media would make you believe, lots of social distancing, closed Universities, but all done in a reasonable fashion. Even the messaging was done in a spirited way, with large sparkly stickers saying "YES!" on train seats where you were able to sit. The behavior changes came about by informing people, and assuming that the vast majority of people will behave sensibly when trusted. At the end of their long summer, there was palpable excitement at the start of a normal life, but also more mask-wearing than what I saw in Denmark. One thing I'll never understand is why Sweden was one of few nations to follow the long-standing plans Governments had long had in place. They screwed up Care Homes, but the plan to focus only on protecting the vulnerable was the action plan all countries had long had for conditions of this level of contagion and severity. https://lnkd.in/dzMEkvH …see more
