If there is one thing that is really making me angry, it’s this idea that somehow every single death from Covid is totally shattering tragedy, worth covering in painful precise detail, while the deaths of 100 times more people each day are somehow less special, less painful, less significant. There is almost this sense that those who die alone from delayed surgeries, from undiagnosed cancer , from depression, from starvation, from abandonment or abuse are even valiant collateral damage in the war against an arbitrary new enemy that they didn’t sign up to fight. …see more
