My (perhaps incorrect) observation is the level of risk and the level of anxiety of Covid 19 is negatively correlated. I'm aware of many 30 year old's terrified to leave the house, scrubbing down online deliveries and food in fits of paranoia, almost all my 40 year old friends wouldn't dream of breaking rules, while the 75 year olds I know are happily shopping without masks, wondering what the fuss is about.
