It's pretty strange that the people who created notifications, autoplay videos, algorithms to feed filter bubbles and normalize extreme viewpoints. Who effectively stole the content made by publishers to monetize it. Who've created a bifurcated world without a middle ground. Who make money only from outrage, jealousy and titillation. Who spend their days wondering how to get us to spend longer at screens and to click more, have somehow never really been held to account more.
