I've an interesting thought experiment. It's called 333. A blogging platform a bit like Medium, but all posts a maximum of 333 words. ( constraints are good ) An active comments section, with threading and upvoting like Reddit. The ability to Share or Comment, no “liking” The ability to follow people, but the main mechanism being “front page” 
There are four front pages accessed via tabs, most commented on, most shared ,latest and “who you follow” There is a monthly archive of the most shared posts of the month and year. A single button press to turn the blog into an image which can be shared on Twitter and Linkedin with a deep link to the post. A superb search function. I don't have time to make this.
