We really really have to be more aware of survivorship bias. The internet gives us the ability to find and share every success story in the world. And discard (without noticing) the failures. We have to accept the role of luck way more than we do. It takes many forms. Good parents, good connections. A good brain. Fortuitous timing. Financial backing. Friends in high places.
