It's taking physical artifacts and making the same things digital, not rethinking the whole system for the digital age and changing everything necessary. - If Plane Paper Tickets were the analogue world. - emailable Print a home boarding passing is digitalization,not transformation. - Mobile boarding passes you don't print, but scan from phone is deeper digitalization. - Digital transformation is getting your face scanned and the ticket being a permission in the cloud. It's about what you remove, what principles you rebuild around, what you subtract, not about the technology you add. Self scanning in grocery stores is adding, Amazon go is reduction.
