I’m kind of slowly starting to think quite radically that we should stop having any press coverage or funding of any technology unless it’s designed in part, in some perhaps oblique way, to bring good to the world and society. I’m absolutely sick of being in ever more luxurious conference centers at SXSW where we talk about frivolous technology while more and more homeless people gather outside. In many counties we’re collectively destroying the planet, good jobs, income inquality suffers, healthcare is a mess, we’ve a demographic timebomb. In the USA we’ve got out if control guns, opioid addiction rampant, extremist views. Globally, women are still facing vast problems with any remote from of equality. We’ve a terrible media and news climate, lies are perpetrated , shitty governments form. Tech needs to start focusing on this or what’s the point. But instead we can order pizza from our shoes and order laundry detergent with our voices and that’s what we talk about ? It’s insane …see more
