There is a very modern phenomena where many most social people I know spend many more hours alone, but while "alone" are "talking" to ever more people via text, images and comments. There is often a weaving of 50 ongoing threads to 50 people, sometimes in real time, sometimes over months. They are across platforms and media, but rarely in person. This makes you wonder, are these people alone in this state? It's sort of continuous partial presence. Often the conversations are basic and vacuous due to the limitations of the media.
