My most vehement belief is that Ad Tech is currently hurting advertising. One day it will help a lot. But for the moment it's a group of people spending their entire time capturing (other's) success in a spreadsheet and tasked only with selfishly claiming credit. The actual success typically created elsewhere. Last touch attribution, moving more money to performance media, ever narrower targeting appears to be working and it's killing our profession and user experience. I wish we could go back to bold ideas, human insights, gut feel and creativity. Aided by data, not obsessed with it.
