I stand with the World Health Organization and Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus , WHO's Director-General. I watched him speak with great passion on a grand stage during the 2017 Universal Health Coverage Forum in Tokyo. I have seen Dr. Tedros hug my hero Edna Adan Ismail and share memories as only kindred spirits do during the 2018 United Nations General Assembly meeting in New York. And I have witnessed him comfort the widow of a health care worker who was murdered during an attack on an #ebola treatment center in Butembo, Democratic Republic of Congo in 2019. I know the mind-boggling challenge that Dr. Tedros has shouldered with great aplomb and intense focus. Because I know he believes, from the depths of his being, that #HealthForAll should not be just a slogan.
