Which vaccine will I want to get? This is one of the questions I get the most. In the UK, the first 130,000 people got vaccinated against COVID-19. The Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine just got approved in the US, and we’re waiting for the authorization of the Moderna vaccine as well. I expect to get the vaccine around May as luckily I’m not considered to be part of the high risk category. So what’s my answer? I’ll get the vaccine about which I can read a study. Since I see the studies for both the Pfizer-BioNTech and the Moderna, I could choose either. Whereas I don’t see any for either the Russian or the Chinese vaccine. A decision about a vaccine should never, ever be about which political power is communicating about it louder than others. It has to be a competent pharma company with a study, peer reviewed and published in a medical journal, approved by a regulatory agency. We all understand the rush and the pressure, but despite all this, medical clinical evidence is a must.
