I have mixed feelings about #womensday On one hand, it highlights the biases, pay gap etc that we still have to work on. On the other hand, I feel it entrenches it even more. I see many organisations asking women to appear on panels/TV etc just for that one day. And then it's back to business as usual...you don't see those women again until the next year. It's same with corporate boards. They appoint one token woman when there is research that shows it takes more than that for women's voices to be heard. And then they consider preaching to others. So my stand has been to avoid participating in such 'show only' panels, appearances etc. I will not participate unless I see women all year round.
