Why fees are on the way down... that was the headline of an article on MF expenses 20 years ago in Australia. As an independent research house, we used to put pressure on MFs to reduce fees. Here in India, the regulator has to mandate it. Investors have to use their voices better - by asking questions of their advisers and funds, perhaps in social media.
