One thing I dislike about the “tech is addictive” argument is that it removes us from our autonomy. It treats us as if we’re incapable of making our own decisions. People aren’t idiots. They’re not puppets on a string. If people find over time that a product is not serving them, then they will stop using it. This is what human beings have always done. One of our most amazing traits is that we adapt and we adopt. This is what we have always done as a species. We have so many options, so much choice, unlimited articles to read, unlimited videos to watch, and websites to learn from that it’s a little dizzying. We are now in an adjustment period where we have to learn how to deal with all of this potential distraction. But instead of crossing our arms and blaming technology, there are some very simple things we can do to make sure that we put these technologies in their place while still getting the best of them. #Indistractable #Tech #Choice
